The FirstOntario Centre in downtown Hamilton is undergoing a major transformation to solidify its status as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. The 17,500-seat arena is undergoing extensive renovation, featuring widened concourses to improve circulation, a revitalized exterior façade, and enhanced street-level access with new guest lounges for a more immersive experience.

Key upgrades include a structurally reinforced roof with higher live load capacity, modernized locker rooms for athletes and performers, and the repurposing of approximately 80,000 square feet of former storage space into vibrant hospitality areas such as restaurants and premium club spaces. These changes will expand the arena’s functionality and appeal, creating a dynamic public venue while preserving its central role in the community.
