As part of its transformation into a leading Conservation Campus and community hub, the Toronto Zoo is redeveloping its front entrance into a year-round gathering space with enhanced functionality for visitors, staff, and the broader community.
The new facility includes guest admissions, retail, rental services, food preparation space, a restaurant, animal exhibit, event, office space, teaching areas, and a theatre.
Pratus coordinated Toronto Green Standard v4.0 Tier 2 Energy Modelling, a Net Zero Emissions Study, and OBC SB-10 Energy Modelling for the project. Services also included full support for integrating TGS Tier 2 design requirements, sustainability checklist coordination for SPA submission, and a Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment. The assessment addressed upfront, operational, and end-of-life carbon in alignment with CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Standard.
