The Myron and Berna Garron Health Sciences Complex at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) will be a collaboration between UTSC, the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, and the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. It will serve as a hub for undergraduate health education and health professional training. The building is to have a gross floor area of approximately 10,800 meter-square and shall not exceed six (6) levels above grade, including wet and dry labs and a mechanical penthouse.

A significant objective of this project is to meet or exceed the University’s ambitious energy targets. This project is required to comply with the University’s Tri-Campus Energy Modelling & Utility Performance Standard, and specific performance targets are defined in the Energy Charter. In addition, the design shall meet or exceed a minimum of LEED Silver, uncertified but including all specifications and documentation as per the USGBC LEEDv4 BD+C requirements.

Pratus Group is providing sustainability advisory services, responsible for the coordination of five facilities located within the campus seeking both LEED v4 BD+C Silver certification and LEED v4 BD+C for Healthcare Silver certification.
